MESSAGE

Message from the President

MIMATSU Co., Ltd. is fortunate to be celebrating its 93rd anniversary this year.
This is entirely due to the long-standing support of our valued customers, for which we are deeply grateful.
While it has not always been smooth sailing over the years, we have made reforms at key junctures to adapt to market changes.

The stance I embrace is to accurately grasp the market environment and consumer trends surrounding our business. Additionally, we must always be aware of our company’s position and strive to differentiate ourselves from other companies by demonstrating originality.

With a primary focus on kimono and dresses, we have offered attire to brighten up special occasions. However, in today’s market, consumer preferences have shifted dramatically from the traditional emphasis on finding value in owning products to valuing heartwarming experiences that can be shared. Rather than simply selling products, we aim to evolve into a company that can provide services encompassing experiential and cultural aspects of interest to our customers that are delivered through a range of touchpoints, such as physical stores and online platforms.
Recent examples include proposing products coupled with Body Frame and Personal Color Assessments, as well as providing services apart from our products, such as pre-wedding photo shoots for long-sleeved furisode kimono. We are also endeavoring to expand into overseas markets in addition to Japan.

In addition, along with our efforts to repair and remake kimono and jewelry to ensure they can be enjoyed for many generations, we are also taking on the challenge to develop products through upcycling kimono, obi sashes, and other items. Through these efforts and frameworks, we intend to contribute to the realization of a sustainable society.

As we approach our 100th anniversary in seven years, we will continue to devote ourselves to providing our customers with even more fulfilling experiences. We sincerely hope for your continued support and patronage.
